Connectedness and individualism:Catalan protesters rally for greater autonomy in Spain

More than a million people are marching in Barcelona to call for greater autonomy for the Catalan region. Catalonia is one of 17 autonomous regions in Spain.

I am of the belief that the more connected we become, the more individualistic we become i.e. the more we perceive that we are able to survive on our own and without the support of others and the more likely there are calls for separation.
